I finally found a deodorant that works for me — Lumē Deodorant, “Minted Cucumber” scent — yay!!!
Here’s the funny thing… I had tried another scent from their line before, and while it worked better than most natural deodorants I’ve tried, it still didn’t hold a candle to how incredible the Minted Cucumber has been for me.
For years, I’ve been on the hunt for a deodorant that was both aluminum-free and made from natural ingredients. I refused to give up that search, even though I wasn’t having much success. Somewhere along the way, I also realized that even aluminum-based deodorants (which used to work for me years ago) had stopped being effective. Maybe that was just God’s way of saying, “Nope, you’re not going back. Keep looking.”
I love how God’s Word tells us to “knock and keep on knocking, ask and keep on asking, seek and keep on seeking” — and how He promises that “to those who knock, the door will be opened; those who ask will receive; and those who seek will find.” I’d like to think this little discovery is scripture fulfilled — even in something as simple as deodorant!
God has proven Himself faithful in so many areas of my life — even through trials and tribulations. And yes, today I’m calling my deodorant journey a “trial” (those close to me will understand!). I’ve always said I don’t mind going through the hard stuff if something good comes out of it. And here I am, grateful to have gone through the less-than-fresh days so I can now share this gem with others.
This isn’t just about smelling good — it’s about finding a product that spares your body from unnecessary chemicals that can wreak havoc, not only in the short term but also in the long run.
What’s interesting is that this brand works incredibly well for me in this one scent, but not so much in another scent I tried. I haven’t tested the rest of their fragrances yet, but this Minted Cucumber one? It’s a keeper. It works for two days straight — even through sweat, long work hours, and the extreme heat we’ve had this summer. That’s a big deal. The other scent I tried just didn’t come close in performance.
I do plan to try the other scents, but I’ll be buying from places that accept returns — just in case. This deodorant isn’t the cheapest, but it’s not the most expensive either. In the world of natural deodorants, it’s actually quite reasonable. And honestly, compared to the price of most aluminum-filled conventional deodorants these days, it’s not badly priced at all.
So, here I am, officially rejoicing over deodorant — because sometimes the little victories are worth celebrating.
